January 2008
With Parallel Dementia at its new site, it's time to look into buying ad space and increasing readership. Problem is, I'm an art college student (its own excuse!) and need money to buy said ad space. So I'm gonna try selling commissions.
Commissions will be available for a limited time only. Just enough to get the first ad I'm aiming for, but if they go well I'll probably do it again.
Commissions can be of single or multiple characters, and the more detail you can give me on the piece, the better. Not just what the characters look like, but if there is a pose you'd like them in, an expression to have on their face, special effects, etc. I'm willing to do both original or pre-existing characters, and anything from fantasy to modern to sci-fi. I'm fairly comfortable doing scantily clad or conveniently censored drawings, but not full nudity. Lastly, by default I'll be doing commissions in the style used in Parallel Dementia, but if you'd prefer cell-shading that's an option too. Just say so.
Commissions are drawn in pencil and colored in Photoshop. If you want the original “inks” I'll send them to you for no extra charge. Also, if there's a specific size (such as for a desktop) you want, please tell me ahead of time.
Grayscale Single Character - $8
Full Color Single Character - $15
All backgrounds will normally be something simple like a gradient or a flat color. If you want a more complex background, talk to me about what you want and we'll figure out an additional price.
Note: If someone commissions Parallel Dementia characters then I will reduce the total price of the piece by 30% (meaning a single color character would be $10, for example). The reason for this being that I know the character designs, and can probably find a use for the piece in promotion of the comic (as bio images, vote incentives, link banners, etc).
Another Note: Unless you request otherwise, I'll likely post commissioned pieces on my Deviant Art account.
To contact me about commissions please send me an email at ben.fleuter@gmail.com with a description of the piece.
My PayPal account is of the same email address, or you can find it on my donations page. U.S. Dollars only please.
Once I know what you want, I will send a rough preliminary sketch. This is your chance to tell me what needs to be changed. When that's approved and payment is received, I'll start on the final piece and send it to you as soon as possible.
Thanks. 1/12/2008 - The Trio Sort of a fan art from NJ Huff of Emergency Exit, though it does feature her characters as well. Does that count as fan art? Eh, whatever. It's awesome so it's going up anyway. 1/01/2008 - Women and Chibis Two new fan arts! One from Sincerely who makes Oops, Nevermind. The other from NJ Huff of Emergency Exit. I am full of glee, yes I am. |
